Riso PrincipeBelgioioso is a town in the Province of Pavia, region of Lombardy (northern Italy) and the home to Riso Principe since 1910. It is here where the beauty of the countryside allows the production of authentic and outstanding Italian rice. Italian rice cultivation is concentrated here in the Po Valley and the Italian varieties grown are the most original, Arborio and Carnaroli.

Riso Principe Carnaroli & Vialone Rice

Carnaroli rice is one of the finest Italian rices, able to absorb liquid stock and cook to a smooth and creamy consistency while still retaining its shape, making it perfect for risotto dishes. Vialone is white rice that is short plump grain giving if a creamy consistency when cooked. Being smaller means it actually cooks faster and absorbs condiments very well.

Riso Principe Basmati Rice

New to the range is Basmati rice. Once cooked the grains of basmati rice are twice as long than most other types of rice, the grains are generally free flowing rather than sticky, and it has a sweet taste and fragrance. Riso Principe Basmati rice is grown in Northern India, has a low glycemic index and is perfect when wanting to create middle eastern and Asian dishes.
